Reflections on a multi-sensorial exploration, characterization, and co-creative-making project. Developing a novel usable material out of coffee-roasting waste. By conducting a series of ‘experimental’ making sessions, we produced a ‘product range’ informed and inspired by chaff’s innate characteristics: a Pen, showcasing chaff’s visual appeal; Paper, showing its practical application; and Candles to engage people in a multisensorial, chaff experience.
